A Demand Valve triggers regeneration based on the amount of water you use and the size of the softener.

Unlike conventional units(shown above), filter housings are not required when using Kwik-Change cartridges. For this reason, there's no need to shut down the system to remove filter housings, simply to change cartridges or membranes.
